2019 Teal There's a Cure Motorcycle Run
Thank you everyone for your support
Teal There’s a Cure was founded by Maureen O’Hara in 2009. She was diagnosed with ovarian cancer in December of 2007 but never told her family about it until January, 2008. Always thinking of others, she did not want to give that news to her family over the holidays. Maureen passed away from the disease in July, 2012.
Maureen, being an advocate for others her entire life, sought every opportunity to help those around her. True to her mission, she devoted her last years spreading awareness/information about the subtle symptoms of ovarian cancer and worked tirelessly to make Teal There’s a Cure foundation a success by raising funds for research and initiating a vision whereby fewer women would suffer from the disease. In her memory, her family and a wonderful group of volunteers have continued to organize the annual event.
We are proud to say that over the past 10 years, the program has raised over $374,000.00. These funds were distributed to various programs, and in 2009, we were able to donate to American Cancer Society to help with ovarian cancer research. In 2010, we discovered OCRA in NY where we donated funds for more research. In 2011, we discovered Partners in Science and have dedicated a specific research focus to beat ovarian cancer. In 2015, we were able to start a patient’s assisted program at Upstate Medical Center to help support those going through ovarian cancer and help with their bills to ease their stress.
